The Rock Church

I was approached by the pastor of Covington First Assembly of God, an established church in Covington TN to help them rebrand their church. This church had been in the area for 80+ years, so it was important to them to keep with the principles they were built on, while bringing them into the modern era. After meeting with the pastor and learning what they planned to change the churches name to “The Rock Church” it was important to break down the why behind the change.

“It represents who we are and what we believe. (Scriptures show us that God is the Rock, Jesus is building His church on the rock, the wise person builds his house on the rock). It creates opportunity to remind people that there is a stable, unshakable foundation on which they can build, even in the midst of a white-water world.”

Project Goals & Solution

Based on the discussed reasoning behind their new name, I set out to develop a modern, simple & faith based brand identity. The basis of the new brand identity was crafted with bold & clean lines as well as suggested rock imagery to represent the solid foundation this church had in their community, as well as Christ as our foundation referenced in scripture.
